November 7, 2019 – Menlo Park, CA – PowerWatch – the smartwatch that converts body heat and solar power into useable battery power – is now shipping to customers who pre-ordered the smartwatch earlier this year, and is now available for purchase at PowerWatch.com and Amazon.com, starting at $499.
PowerWatch Series 2, which includes Premium and LUXE editions, is powered by you and always on thanks to thermoelectric power that’s generated when you wear the watch. Its MATRIX engine takes the body heat you generate and converts it into electricity. This powers the watch without needing to take it off, so it’s always ready when you are.
Series 2 is designed with improved thermoelectric generators and all-new solar-cell technology that increases power and efficiency and allows for a new suite of features like heart rate monitoring, a full-color LCD screen and always-on GPS. Because of the power needed to track runs, hikes, and location, most smartwatches limit GPS ping time to save battery. PowerWatch Series 2 allows for pinpoint location accuracy without ping-time power limits, making Series 2 the ultimate tool for anyone mapping out their run, hike or ride, and allows users to leave their phones at home.
PowerWatch can also measure your actual body heat as it relates to calorie burning, giving the wearer unprecedented accuracy when it comes to calorie tracking. And, never needing to be charged means you can continue to wear it through the night and track real-time sleep patterns for the most accurate results. The all-new PowerWatch iOS/Android companion app provides users with even more useful health and fitness metrics, including pace, distance, steps, sleep, and cadence. PowerWatch Series 2 is water resistant up to 200m and is integrating third party fitness platforms like Apple HealthKit and Google Fit, while opening up a brand-new SDK for developers interested in building more low-powered features for the custom PowerWatch OS.
